Bill Baker brings over 30 years experience in Business Intelligence (BI) and data warehousing to Simba's Advisory Board. More recently, he served as the Chief Technology Officer of Visible Technologies, Inc. Bill spent more than twelve years at Microsoft where he started and grew the BI team within Microsoft’s SQL Server Business Intelligent Unit and served as General Manager of BI applications for the Microsoft Office Business Platform. During his tenure, he and his team delivered three releases of Microsoft Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Integration Services and the SQL Server Management Studio. Bill also managed product development for BI applications such as Microsoft PerformancePoint Server 2007. He was subsequently named a Microsoft Distinguished Engineer, an acknowledgement bestowed by Microsoft to technical contributors whose high level of performance, technical vision, expertise and world-class leadership are instrumental in developing and driving products and standards for Microsoft and the technology industry. Prior to Microsoft, Bill was Vice President of Express Product Development at Oracle Corporation. Oracle Express was the precursor of Oracle Database’s OLAP Option today. Oracle acquired the Express product through its acquisition of IRI Software, where Bill held the position of Senior Vice President responsible for Express multi-dimensional database development. Bill currently serves on several corporate and advisory boards and assists several software companies in the Seattle area.
Robert Gersten brings over 25 years of Business Intelligence (BI) and data warehousing experience to Simba’s board. Most recently, Robert served as Senior Vice President of Oracle Corporation, where he was responsible for strategic planning and delivery of Oracle’s BI and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) products. At Oracle, Robert spearheaded the convergence of the BI and EPM strategies into a single vision. This integrated the development efforts of the Siebel Corporation and Hyperion Solutions Corporation acquisitions. Robert was also responsible for the expansion of the product line beyond Essbase, Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion Planning to include additional products in data management, profitability, data quality and financial applications. Prior to joining Oracle, Robert held the position of Chief Development Officer of Hyperion Solutions Corporation, where he played a key role in the integration of Hyperion and Arbor Software and where he drove product strategy and execution that in turn led to the $3.3 billion acquisition of Hyperion by Oracle. While at Hyperion, Robert was also a key driver in bringing Hyperion, Microsoft and SAS together to form the XMLA Council and in driving forward the XMLA and MDX query language specifications.
Karim Khoja has served in senior management positions in national and multi-national telecommunications companies for over fifteen years. He has extensive experience in nurturing start-up businesses from infancy through development, and has led several GSM start-up companies into becoming major market players as President and CEO, including being the founding CEO of Mobilink (Pakistan), Director of Marketing, Strategy and Sales for ERA GSM, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Board for CROATIAN Telecommunication HT, as well as founding CEO of T MOBILE, Croatia. Karim has also been on the board of directors and in senior positions focusing on sales, marketing and strategy for companies such as Exi Wireless Inc, Spectronics Microsystems Ltd., and RAM Mobile Data Ltd. In January 2003, Karim was appointed Chief Executive Officer for the Telecom Development Company Afghanistan Ltd, Roshan. Under his leadership, Roshan has grown to be Afghanistan's largest mobile provider and today is the largest company in Afghanistan with over 4 million subscribers. Karim is also Chairman of the Board of the Afghan Investment Climate Facility AICF and an advisor to the GSMA Development Fund.
Amyn Rajan is Simba's President and CEO. He is focused on growing the company's leadership position as a premium provider of data connectivity solutions to many of the world's leading software companies. Amyn's responsibilities include facilitating the pursuit of Simba's strategic opportunities, ensuring 100% customer satisfaction, driving business development, and attracting and managing human resources. He brings more than 20 years software industry experience to Simba. Amyn was a software consultant to Microsoft® Corporation where he worked on developing IIS, and to Adobe® Systems where he worked on developing a multi-media database engine called FETCH and Adobe PageMaker®. Prior to this, he worked for Hong Kong Bank of Canada to develop global electronic banking software, serving a portion of his tenure therein based in Hong Kong. In 2007, Amyn was named a recipient of Business in Vancouver magazine's Forty Under 40, an award recognizing excellence and achievement in business. Amyn was appointed Co-Chair of the Faculty of Applied Sciences External Advisory Council at Simon Fraser University in 2011.
